What is the difference between Scandinavian and European standards for door handles?

Hello,

I am interested in buying door handles from you and I wonder what the difference is between Scandinavian and European standards? What should I choose if I live in United Kingdom?

  • Hi Olivia,

Glad that you are interested in shopping from us 😊

Some of our door handles such as Helix 200, Tavira and Sintra are available in two different standards, Scandinavian and European standard. What distinguishes them is that they are adapted for different lock cases and have different screw holes. The rule of thumb is that if you live here in Scandinavia, it is with 99.99% certainty that it is the Scandinavian standard you should have. If, on the other hand, you live outside Scandinavia, it is the European standard you should choose. In your case it is the European standard you should choose.

We have produced a guide called "How to install your new door handles" where we tell you more about the difference between Scandinavian and European standards and go through what you should think about when you buy new door handles and how they are assembled.

If you have more questions or want help, you are always welcome to contact us again and we will be happy to help you.

Good luck with your new door handles 😊
    Anders
